On November 11, a solemn ceremony dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan was celebrated in the "Gulustan" Palace in Baku.

The event was attended by state and government representatives, heads of federations, Olympic champions and titled athletes and the guests arrived for the celebration of the anniversary.

First, the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played. Then a video dedicated to the successful performances of Azerbaijani athletes at the Olympic Games, specially prepared by the International Olympic Committee for the Azerbaijan NOC, was demonstrated.

Farah Aliyeva, Head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Affairs of the Presidential Administration, read the congratulatory letter of the President of Azerbaijan, President of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev to the National Olympic Committee.

The President of the European Olympic Committee, Spyros Capralos, in his speech said that Azerbaijan was recognized as a sports country in the world, and that the First European Games were organized at a high level in Baku. He noted that as a result of the high attention given to sports at the state level in Azerbaijan, the most modern sports infrastructure in the country has been created and Azerbaijani athletes compete decently in the international arena. All this became possible thanks to the successful sports policy of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Spyros Capralos emphasized that the First European Games were perfectly organized under the leadership of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva.

After the presentation of the Olympic Anthem in new interpretation, the President of the European Olympic Committee, Spyros Capralos, presented a keepsake of the organization to the NOC Vice-President Chingiz Huseynzada, and the Secretary General Azer Aliyev. NOC officials also presented a special gift to Spyros Capralos. The solemn anniversary ceremony continued with a grand concert program.
