Today, a delegation led by Masaryu Koizumi, the mayor of the Shikyak town of Ishikawa, is on a visit to Baku. Within the framework of the visit, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the institutions of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Mayor Masaru Koizumi thanked for the meeting, saying that his visit to Azerbaijan was very interesting and efficient. He said the preparations for the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are underway. Various projects will be held to promote future races and expand sporting ties among countries.

Vice President of the NOC Azerbaijan Chingiz Huseynzade noted that the Olympic and Paralympic Games of 2020 will be successful: “The National Olympic Committee is preparing for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and our athletes will achieve high results in these games like Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Establishment of such cooperation and organization of projects, in turn, will have a great impact on the development of institutions. “

Speaking about the effectiveness of the signing of the memorandum, vice-president of Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation Namik Aliyev said: “We are ready for these games with enthusiasm. We think the results will be high in the Tokyo Olympics. Also, participation in training sessions in Japan is a good idea to exchange views between the two countries. “

Opinions and proposals of each sports federation were heard, exchanged views on bilateral actions and trainings.

Then a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Olympic Committee and the city of Shika, as well as the Azerbaijani Wrestling Federation and Shika city. Based on the memorandum, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will include a high priority for Shika, Japan’s Ichikawa province as a candidate for the initial training camp, and joint projects.

Also, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Azerbaijani Wrestling Federation and Shika city includes training sessions, exchange of views, various competitions and workshops.
