On November 9, 2018, the 47th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) started its first workshop.

The Azerbaijani delegation in the General Assembly is represented by Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov, member of the Executive Committee of the EOC, vice-president of the National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzade, deputy secretary general of the National Olympic Committee Azer Aliyev, chief of the International Relations Department of the NOC Anar Bagirov.

President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach, President of the AOC Janez Kochijanchic, Secretary General Rafael Paqnozzi and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committees Association Qunilla Lindberg attended the event. The annual report of the EOC was discussed at the Assembly.

Reports from the Organizing Committees of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games are among the issues on the agenda. Reports of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games were heard. A presentation on the preparations for the games was demonstrated by the II European Games Operations Committee.

The VIII Pyotr Nurovski – Best European Young Athlete Award was presented to the Austrian cyclist Laura Stigger within the EOC General Assembly.

On November 10, the presentation of Baku 2019 Youth European Olympic Festival was made by Nigar Afandiyeva and Tarlan Mammadov, members of the Organizing Committee of the Baku 2019 Youth Olympic Games.

Reports from the XVIII European Games in Montenegro on 27 May – 1 June 2019 were among the issues on the agenda.

The 48th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committee will be held in Warsaw, Poland.

Remind that on 8th of November the meeting of the Executive Committee of the European Olympic Committee was held. The meeting was attended by the member of the Executive Committee of the European Olympic Committee and Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Chingiz Huseynzade.
