Exchange visit of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of OCEP took place on March 20-25. The delegation consisted of teachers and students of Baku school №53, representing Uzbekistan and the representatives of Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee. During the visit, the guests visited the ancient cities of Uzbekistan, such as Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, and participated in a number of important meetings and events. The most interesting of them took place at the international school named after Al-Biruni, twinning school №53, and at the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. For the first time, a memorandum on cooperation was signed between schools within the framework of OCEP. The main purpose of signing the document is to achieve broader cooperation and exchange of experience between twinned schools not only in Olympic and sports, but also in other fields. This, in turn, will serve to strengthen historical and cultural ties between countries and friendship between peoples.

During the visit to the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, the head of the International Relations Department, Kamaladdin Argashev, welcomed the delegation and toured the building of the committee, as well as the Olympic Museum of Uzbekistan. A film about the history of the Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan was demonstrated to the guests. After, a general presentation about the OCEP project was introduced to the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. During the presentation, detailed information was given about the work done by school №53 and the activities taken to represent Uzbekistan. In the end, Jeyhun Rahmanov, representative of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan, and Tunzale Zeynalova, the Director of Baku school, thanked the host for the interesting meeting and presented souvenirs to the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.

In the framework of the visit, the delegation visited the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan and the Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev. Ambassador Huseyn Guliyev was given detailed information about the OCEP project, the agenda of the visit, as well as the joint works and events to be implemented with twin school from Uzbekistan.

OCEP has been initiated within the framework of Baku 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival by cooperation of NOC Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Science and Education with the support of International Olympic Committee and European Olympic Committees. Specially formulated for the youth, the OCEP is aiming to engage and inspire them to be true champions, to adopt and live by Olympic values of Friendship, Excellence and Respect along with playing active roles in their communities. In the framework of OCEP, 54 schools of Azerbaijan actively joined wider Olympic education network by interacting and sharing their knowledge with twin schools across the world.
