Safe Sport is one of the most important tasks set by the International Olympic Committee in modern time. Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee completed the pilot project related to education and promotion of “Safe Sport” topic in accordance with the IOC’s requirements and recommendations.

On June 8, the first meeting on “Safe sport for all” was held in administrative office of the Azerbaijan NOC in the framework of the project. Films related to “Safe sport”, works done and plans for future were presented during the meeting. The educational films covered such topics as anti-doping, e-sport, manipulation in sport, sexual harassment and abuse and safe sport.

At the meeting, NOC Vice-President Chingiz Huseynzada informed the participants about position and role of “Safe sport” in sports policy, work implemented, attained achievements and noticed significance of presence of a person responsible for safe sport in national federations. NOC’s International Programs Department Director Karimov Mehman in his presentation about the project brought to the attention of the participants the results of the survey conducted among 21 federations. It became clear due to the survey that certified safe sport national specialists and broad enlightenment activity in this field is required.

Then the interviews of the IOC President Thomas Bach, Olympic Solidarity Continental/EOC Office Manager Gianluca de Angelis, Olympic Movement Unit on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions NOCs Contact Manager Evangelos Alexandrakis about "Safe sport" and the work carried out by the NOC in the relevant field were presented.

The project was carried out with the technical and financial support of the IOC and the European Olympic Committee.
